I’m sure you know how much I love a good game skybox, so I wasn’t willing to let this slide. While Dark Forces runs inside DOSBox and so is completely insulated from the vagaries of modern graphics drivers, its sequel, alas, is not. While the fresh digital download I picked up off gog was broadly functional on Windows 7, I did see a lot of nasty graphic artefacts most particularly the “Hall of Mirrors” effect anywhere there should have been a sky. Yes, Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II is the one with the live-action cinematics, supplanting the hand-painted characters of the first game’s cutscenes with proper costumed actors.ĭark Forces ended with a distantly observing Darth Vader asserting that “the force is strong with Kyle Katarn.” Let’s find out just how strong, shall we? Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II After installation the Portingkit will say the installation was done successfully.If I said that Star Wars: Dark Forces would have made a perfect film, then it’s no surprise that its sequel basically just went ahead and made a film. When you clicked “no” and were directed to the game page, you have to click “download” again and then click “yes” so the Portingkit will install the game for you. If you don’t own the game yet the Portingkit can direct you to the game page where to purchase it and download the setup/download file into your download folder. Simply download the Portingkit (if you don’t have it already) and go to the library –> server tab and select the “ Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II” game and click download. As Katarn embarks on his journey to defeat the Dark Jedi he must also shape his destiny, by choosing to follow either the light side, or the dark side. In order to protect the galaxy Katarn must confront his father’s murderers, led by the Dark Jedi Jerec, and stop them from obtaining the mysterious powers of a “Valley of the Jedi”, a focal point for Jedi power and a Jedi burial ground. Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II continues the story of Kyle Katarn, a young mercenary that successfully infiltrated the Empire, as he embarks on a quest to discover his past and learn the ways of the Jedi. Tested the game on my Nvidia 640M iMac and it works great! Played about 1 hour without issues ! The game is added to the Portingkit now. This GOG.com version contains as well the Standard game including the DLC expansion. Another Awesome Star Wars Game added to the Website and Portingkit! This time it is Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II.
